1The LORD said to Moses,
2"Command the people of Israel, and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that will fall to you as your inheritance, the land of Canaan with its borders."
3"Your south side will begin at the wilderness of Zin, along the border of Edom. Your southern border will start at the far end of the Salt Sea on the east."
4"Your border will turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin. It will go out south of Kadeshbarnea, then go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon."
5"From Azmon the border will turn round to the river of Egypt, and it will end at the sea."
6"As for the western border, you will have the Great Sea as your border. This will be your west border."
7"This will be your north border: from the Great Sea you will mark out a line to mount Hor."
8"From mount Hor you will mark out your border to the entrance of Hamath. The border will end at Zedad."
9"Then the border will go on to Ziphron, and it will end at Hazarenan. This will be your north border."
10"You will mark out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham."
11"The border will go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain. Then the border will go down and reach the slope of the sea of Chinnereth on the east."
12"The border will go down to the Jordan, and it will end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, with its borders all around."
13Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, "This is the land you will receive by lot, which the LORD commanded to be given to the nine tribes and to the half tribe."
14"For the tribe of the sons of Reuben, family by family, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, family by family, have received their inheritance, and half the tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance."
15"The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, near Jericho, on the east, toward the sunrise."
16The LORD said to Moses,
17"These are the names of the men who will divide the land for you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun."
18"And you will take one leader from every tribe, to divide the land as an inheritance."
20"and from the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud;"
21"from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon;"
22"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli;"
23"the leader of the sons of Joseph, for the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod;"
24"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;"
25"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;"
26"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan;"
27"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi;"
28"and the leader of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud."
29These are the men the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan.
