Lot was Abraham's nephew who chose to settle in the fertile Jordan Valley near Sodom. Despite living among wicked people, he was called righteous. Angels rescued him and his daughters before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. His wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.
