Old Testament

Judah was the fourth son of Jacob and Leah. He suggested selling Joseph to traders rather than killing him. Later he pledged his own life for Benjamin's safety. Jacob's blessing declared the scepter would not depart from Judah, fulfilled in King David and Jesus Christ.
