Canaan Region

Canaan was the Promised Land that God pledged to Abraham and his descendants. This land, flowing with milk and honey, became the focus of Israel's hope during their slavery in Egypt and wilderness wanderings. The conquest of Canaan under Joshua represented God's faithfulness to His covenant promises. The land's fertility contrasted with the spiritual corruption of its inhabitants, whose practices Israel was commanded to avoid. Canaan eventually became Israel, the land where God's plan of redemption would unfold through David's line to the Messiah.
