Ask rain from the LORD in the season of spring rain; He makes storm clouds and gives showers. God's anger burns against the shepherds, for He has visited His flock the house of Judah as His majestic warhorse. From Judah shall come the cornerstone, the tent peg, the battle bow - every ruler together. God will strengthen Judah, save Joseph, and restore them because He has compassion; they shall be as though He had not rejected them.

Egypt plays a significant role throughout the Bible, from the time of Abraham to the flight of the Holy Family. Joseph was sold into slavery there and rose to become second to Pharaoh, saving his family during famine. The Israelites were enslaved in Egypt for 400 years before God delivered them through Moses in the Exodus. Jesus' family fled to Egypt to escape King Herod, fulfilling the prophecy "Out of Egypt I called my son."

Gilead was a mountainous region east of the Jordan River, known for its healing balm and rich pastures. It was home to the prophet Elijah and the judge Jephthah. Jacob and Laban made their covenant at a cairn of stones they named Galeed (Gilead). The region was allocated to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh.
