Original Summary

Read 2 Kings Chapter 15 Summary

Azariah of Judah reigns fifty-two years, does right but leaves high places; the LORD strikes him with leprosy until death, so his son Jotham governs. Zechariah of Israel reigns six months until Shallum conspires and kills him publicly, fulfilling the LORD's word to Jehu about four generations. Shallum reigns one month until Menahem strikes him. Menahem reigns ten years in evil; he sacks Tiphsah, ripping open pregnant women. He pays Pul (Tiglath-pileser) of Assyria a thousand talents of silver (fifty shekels per wealthy man) to support his throne. Pekahiah his son reigns two years until his captain Pekah kills him in the citadel at Samaria. Pekah reigns twenty years; Tiglath-pileser carries Gilead, Galilee, and Naphtali into Assyrian captivity. Hoshea conspires, kills Pekah, and becomes king. Jotham of Judah reigns sixteen years, does right; in his days the LORD begins sending Rezin of Syria and Pekah against Judah. Ahaz succeeds him.
