1 Chronicles 29 - Summary

David addressed the assembly acknowledging his personal contribution of 3,000 talents of gold and 7,000 talents of refined silver beyond the dedicated materials, prompting the leaders to give willingly: 5,000 talents of gold, 10,000 darics, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze, and 100,000 talents of iron. David offered a magnificent prayer of praise acknowledging that all wealth comes from God's hand and that their offerings were simply returning what already belonged to Him, asking that the people's willing hearts be preserved and that Solomon be given wholehearted devotion. The assembly blessed the Lord, sacrificed abundantly, made Solomon king a second time, anointed him and Zadok as priest, and David died in good old age after reigning forty years, with the transition of power to Solomon accomplished peacefully under divine blessing.
