Mount Moriah

God tested Abraham's faith and obedience. This was not about God wanting human sacrifice, but about demonstrating Abraham's complete trust in God, even with his most precious promise—his son through whom God's covenant would continue. Abraham's willingness to obey, and God's provision of a substitute ram, foreshadowed God's later provision of Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice.

Second Chronicles 3:1 explicitly states that Solomon built the Temple on Mount Moriah, on the threshing floor of Araunah that David had purchased. This connected Israel's central place of worship with the site where Abraham had demonstrated supreme faith and where God had provided a substitute sacrifice.
