1 Chronicles 28 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 28 Summary

David assembled all Israel's leaders in Jerusalem and declared that though he had desired to build a resting place for the ark, God had forbidden him as a man of war and chosen Solomon instead from among all his sons to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord. He publicly charged Solomon to know the God of his father and serve Him with whole heart and willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts, and if Solomon seeks Him he will be found, but if he forsakes Him he will be cast off forever. David gave Solomon the detailed plans for the temple that he had received by the Spirit, including the dimensions, the porches, treasuries, upper chambers, inner room for the mercy seat, the courses of priests and Levites, and the weight of gold and silver for every article, assuring Solomon that the Lord would be with him until all the work was finished.
