Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 26 Summary

The gatekeepers were organized into courses from the families of the Korahites and Merarites, with Meshelemiah and his sons assigned to the east gate, and the experienced Obed-edom blessed with sixty-two capable descendants serving in this ministry. The gates were assigned by lot: north to Zechariah, south to Obed-edom and his sons, the storehouse to Shuppim and Hosah, with four gatekeepers daily on the east, two for the north and south, and specified numbers for the courts and storehouse. The chapter also records treasurers over the dedicated things including spoils from David's wars, and officers and judges for external administration in Israel's affairs both secular and sacred.
