Matthew 17 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Matthew Chapter 17 Summary

The Transfiguration on a high mountain reveals Jesus' divine glory to Peter, James, and John, with His face shining like the sun and garments becoming white as light, while Moses and Elijah appear conversing with Him. The Father's voice from the overshadowing cloud commands the disciples to hear His beloved Son, and Jesus instructs them to maintain silence about the vision until after His resurrection while explaining that Elijah has already come in John the Baptist. Descending the mountain, Jesus heals a demon-possessed boy whom the disciples could not cure due to their little faith, again predicts His death and resurrection, and miraculously provides the temple tax from a fish's mouth.
