Joshua 2 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Joshua Chapter 2 Summary

Joshua secretly sends two spies to Jericho, who lodge at Rahab the prostitute's house; when the king demands she surrender them, she hides them on her roof under stalks of flax and misdirects the pursuers toward the Jordan fords. Rahab confesses that all Canaan's inhabitants are terrified because they have heard how the LORD dried up the Red Sea and destroyed the Amorite kings Sihon and Og, declaring that the LORD their God is God in heaven above and on earth below. The spies swear an oath to spare Rahab's family when Jericho falls, instructing her to bind a scarlet cord in her window and gather her relatives inside.
