Original Summary

Read Jeremiah Chapter 46 Summary

Oracles against nations begin with Egypt: at Carchemish, Pharaoh Neco's army fell to Babylon. Egypt rises like the Nile but shall be shamed; Nebuchadnezzar will smite Egypt. Flee, O Pharaoh, O tumultuous one who missed his hour! God will punish Amon of Thebes and Egypt's gods; afterward Egypt will be inhabited as before. Fear not, O Jacob; God will save you.
