Baruch was the faithful scribe and companion of the prophet Jeremiah. He wrote down Jeremiah's prophecies on a scroll, which was later burned by King Jehoiakim. Baruch rewrote the scroll with additional material and accompanied Jeremiah to Egypt after Jerusalem's fall.
