2 Chronicles 6 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 6 Summary

Solomon addressed the assembly declaring that the Lord had fulfilled His promise to David and chosen Jerusalem for His name, then turned to bless the congregation before the bronze platform he had made in the court. In his dedicatory prayer, Solomon acknowledged that heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain God, yet asked that His eyes be open toward this house where His name dwells, hearing prayers made toward this place. He presented seven specific petitions: oath-taking, defeat in battle due to sin, drought from sin, famine and pestilence, the prayer of any individual, the foreigner who comes to pray toward this house, and prayers of those in battle and in captivity, asking God to forgive His people and maintain their cause.
