2 Chronicles 7 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 7 Summary

When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple so that the priests could not enter. All Israel witnessed the fire and glory, bowing with faces to the ground, worshiping and giving thanks, and Solomon offered 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep at the dedication, which lasted seven days followed by the Feast of Tabernacles and an eighth day of solemn assembly. The Lord appeared to Solomon at night confirming that He had heard his prayer and consecrated the temple, then stated the conditional covenant: if Solomon walks in integrity like David, his throne will be established, but if Israel turns to idolatry, they will be uprooted and this temple will become a byword among the nations.
