2 Chronicles 22 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 22 Summary

The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah (Jehoahaz), Jehoram's youngest son, king because Arab raiders had killed all the older sons, and he reigned one year, walking in the ways of Ahab's house because his mother Athaliah was his counselor in wickedness. Ahaziah joined Jehoram (Joram) king of Israel in war against Hazael of Syria at Ramoth-gilead, where Joram was wounded and returned to Jezreel to recover; Ahaziah went to visit him and was caught in the divine judgment executed by Jehu son of Nimshi. Jehu killed Ahaziah's relatives who had come to visit the royal family, then Ahaziah was found hiding in Samaria, brought to Jehu, and executed; his body was buried honorably only because he was Jehoshaphat's grandson, leaving the house of David with no one able to rule.
