When Pharaoh's army causes the Chaldeans to temporarily lift the siege, Zedekiah sends to Jeremiah asking for prayer. Jeremiah warns that Egypt will return home and the Chaldeans will burn Jerusalem. Attempting to leave the city, Jeremiah is arrested as a deserter, beaten, and imprisoned. Zedekiah secretly asks for God's word; Jeremiah says he will be given to Babylon.
