Judges 15 - Summary

When Samson returns to visit his wife and finds her given to another, he catches three hundred foxes, ties them tail to tail with torches between, and releases them into the Philistines' standing grain, vineyards, and olive groves. The Philistines retaliate by burning his wife and her father; Samson strikes them hip and thigh with great slaughter, then withdraws to Etam's rock. When three thousand Judahites bind Samson to deliver him to the Philistines at Lehi, the Spirit of the LORD rushes upon him, the ropes become as burnt flax, and he kills a thousand men with a fresh donkey's jawbone. Parched with thirst, he cries to God who splits the hollow at Lehi, bringing forth water; Samson judges Israel twenty years during the Philistine domination.
