Isaiah 44 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Isaiah Chapter 44 Summary

God will pour out His Spirit on Jacob's offspring; they shall spring up like willows by streams. Idol-makers are all foolish: they plant a tree, then burn half for fire and worship the other half as a god. But God formed Israel in the womb, blots out their transgressions like a cloud, and names Cyrus as shepherd who will restore Jerusalem.

The Longest Prophetic Book

Isaiah contains 66 chapters, making it the longest of the prophetic books. Often called 'the fifth Gospel,' it includes more messianic prophecies than any other Old Testament book, vividly describing Christ's suffering in chapter 53 some 700 years before His birth.
