Exodus 19 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Exodus Chapter 19 Summary

Israel arrives at Sinai in the third month, and God proposes a covenant: if they obey, they will be His treasured possession, a kingdom of priests and holy nation. The people unanimously accept, and God commands consecration rituals as He prepares to descend on the mountain in three days. Mount Sinai trembles with thunder, lightning, thick cloud, and trumpet blast as God descends in fire, and Moses alone is permitted to ascend.

The first person 'filled with the Spirit' was an artist

The very first person the Bible describes as 'filled with the Spirit of God' isn't a prophet or a king, it's Bezalel, a craftsman gifted for artistic design, gold-work and carving to build the Tabernacle (Exodus 31:1-5). Creativity itself is treated as a divine gift.
