1I turned and lifted up my eyes and looked, and there came four chariots out from between two mountains. The mountains were mountains of brass.
2In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses,
3and in the third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot speckled and bay horses.
4Then I said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my lord?"
5The angel answered me, "These are the four spirits of the heavens. They go out from standing before the Lord of all the earth."
6"The black horses that are in one chariot go out into the country of the north. The white go out after them. The speckled go out toward the country of the south."
7The bay horses went out, and they wanted to go and walk to and fro through the earth. And he said, "Go now, walk to and fro through the earth." So they walked to and fro through the earth.
8Then he called out to me and said, "Look, these that go toward the country of the north have given my spirit rest in the country of the north."
9And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
10"Take a gift from those who were carried away captive, from Heldai, from Tobijah, and from Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon. Come that same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah."
11Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest.
12Speak to him and say, 'This is what the LORD of hosts says: Look at the man whose name is The BRANCH. He shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.
13He himself shall build the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his throne. He shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.'
14The crowns shall be for Helem, and for Tobijah, and for Jedaiah, and for Hen the son of Zephaniah, as a memorial in the temple of the LORD.
15"Those who are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall happen, if you will carefully obey the voice of the LORD your God."
