Read Zechariah Chapter 5

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Then I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and looked. There was a flying scroll.

He said to me, "What do you see?" And I answered, "I see a flying scroll. It is twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide."

Then he said to me, "This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth. Everyone who steals will be cut off, as it says on this side; and everyone who swears will be cut off, as it says on that side."

"I will send it out, says the LORD of hosts, and it will go into the house of the thief, and into the house of the one who swears falsely by my name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it, both its timber and its stones."

Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, "Lift up your eyes now, and see what this is that is going out."

And I said, "What is it?" And he said, "This is an ephah that is going out." He also said, "This is what they look like through all the earth."

And look, a weight of lead, a talent, was lifted up. And there was a woman sitting inside the ephah.

And he said, "This is wickedness." And he threw her down into the ephah, and he threw the lead weight over its mouth.

Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there came out two women. The wind was in their wings, for they had wings like the wings of a stork. They lifted up the ephah between the earth and the sky.

Then I said to the angel who talked with me, "Where are they carrying the ephah?"

And he said to me, "To build a house for it in the land of Shinar. When it is ready, the ephah will be set there on its own base."
