Matthew 28 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Matthew Chapter 28 Summary

The resurrection narrative recounts the earthquake, the angel rolling away the stone, the guards becoming like dead men, and the angel's announcement to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary that Jesus has risen as He said. The risen Jesus meets the women who worship Him, while the guards are bribed by the chief priests to spread the lie that disciples stole the body while they slept. The Gospel concludes with the Great Commission on a Galilean mountain, where Jesus declares all authority in heaven and earth is His and commands His disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptizing in the trinitarian name and teaching obedience to all He commanded, with the promise of His presence to the age's end.
