God prophesies against Mount Seir (Edom) for its perpetual hatred against Israel and for rejoicing over Israel's desolation, saying they would possess both nations. Because Edom shed blood and claimed Israel's land as its own, God will make Mount Seir a perpetual desolation when Israel rejoices.
