Through an allegory of two sisters, Oholah (Samaria) and Oholibah (Jerusalem), God describes the harlotry of both kingdoms with Assyria, Egypt, and Babylon. Both defiled themselves with idols; Oholah was given to her Assyrian lovers who killed her, while Oholibah, despite witnessing this, became even more corrupt and will face similar judgment.
