2 Samuel 4 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Samuel Chapter 4 Summary

When Ish-bosheth hears of Abner's death, his courage fails and Israel is dismayed. Two of his captains, Rechab and Baanah, enter his house during the heat of day, find him asleep, stab him, and bring his head to David at Hebron, claiming the LORD has avenged David on Saul's house. David, recalling how he executed the Amalekite who claimed to kill Saul, has the assassins executed, their hands and feet cut off, and their bodies hung by Hebron's pool. Ish-bosheth's head is buried in Abner's tomb at Hebron.
