1 Chronicles 22 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 22 Summary

David declared that the location of the altar at Ornan's threshing floor would be the site of the house of the Lord and the altar of burnt offering for Israel, initiating preparations by gathering vast quantities of materials. Though forbidden to build the temple himself because he was a man of war who had shed much blood, David charged his son Solomon with the task, declaring that Solomon would be a man of rest whose reign would bring peace, and the temple would be built for the Lord's name. David assembled iron, bronze beyond weighing, cedar logs from Sidon and Tyre, and 100,000 talents of gold and 1,000,000 talents of silver, commanding the leaders of Israel to assist Solomon and establish their hearts to seek the Lord.
