Zechariah 7 - Summary

In Darius's fourth year, messengers ask whether the fifth-month fast commemorating Jerusalem's destruction should continue. God responds by questioning whether their fasting was truly for Him, reminding them that earlier prophets called for justice, mercy, and compassion rather than ritual—but their fathers refused to listen, bringing upon themselves the captivity they now lament.
