Give thanks to the LORD. Call on his name. Tell the peoples what he has done.
Sing to him, sing psalms to him. Talk of all his wonderful works.
Take glory in his holy name. Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Seek the LORD, and his strength. Seek his face always.
Remember the marvellous works he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
He is the LORD our God. His judgments are in all the earth.
He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word he commanded to a thousand generations.
He made it stand for Jacob as a law, and for Israel as an everlasting covenant,
saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan, the portion you will inherit."
There were only a few of them then, very few, and they were strangers in the land.
They went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people.
He allowed no one to do them wrong. He even rebuked kings for their sake,
saying, "Do not touch my anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm."
He called for a famine on the land. He broke the whole supply of bread.
He sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
They hurt his feet with chains. He was laid in irons,
until the time his word came true. The word of the LORD tested him.
The king sent and set him free. The ruler of the people let him go free.
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all he owned,
to bind his princes as he pleased, and to teach his elders wisdom.
He made his people increase greatly, and made them stronger than their enemies.
He turned their hearts to hate his people, and to deal craftily with his servants.
They showed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness, and made it dark. And they did not rebel against his word.
He turned their waters into blood, and killed their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the rooms of their kings.
He spoke, and swarms of flies came, and lice through all their land.
He gave them hail instead of rain, and flaming fire in their land.
He struck their vines and their fig trees, and broke the trees of their land.
He spoke, and the locusts came, and caterpillars beyond counting.
They ate up all the plants in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their strength.
He brought them out with silver and gold, and there was not one weak person among their tribes.
Egypt was glad when they left, for the fear of them had fallen on Egypt.
He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to give light in the night.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and filled them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out. They ran through the dry places like a river.
For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took over what other peoples had worked for,
so that they might observe his statutes and keep his laws. Praise the LORD.
