Upon hearing this news, Jesus withdraws but is followed by crowds whom He compassionately heals and miraculously feeds—five thousand men plus women and children—with five loaves and two fish, with twelve baskets of fragments remaining. Jesus sends disciples across the sea, prays alone on the mountain, then walks on the water to the storm-tossed boat, with Peter briefly walking on water before sinking in doubt, and all worshiping Jesus as the Son of God.
