The LORD spoke to Moses. He said,

"Speak to the whole community of the children of Israel, and say to them: You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy."

"Each of you shall respect his mother and his father, and you shall keep my sabbaths. I am the LORD your God."

"Do not turn to idols, and do not make gods of melted metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God."

"When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, you shall offer it of your own free will."

"It shall be eaten on the same day you offer it, and on the next day. If any is left until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire."

"If any of it is eaten at all on the third day, it is disgusting. It will not be accepted."

"So everyone who eats it shall carry the weight of his sin, because he has treated the holy thing of the LORD as common. That person shall be cut off from among his people."

"When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap right to the corners of your field, and you shall not gather what is left behind after your harvest."

"You shall not go over your vineyard a second time, or gather every grape of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God."

"You shall not steal. You shall not cheat. You shall not lie to one another."

"You shall not swear falsely by my name, and so treat the name of your God as common. I am the LORD."

"You shall not cheat your neighbour, and you shall not rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not stay with you all night until morning."

"You shall not curse the deaf, or put something in the way of the blind to trip them. You shall fear your God. I am the LORD."

"You shall do nothing unjust when you judge. You shall not favour the poor person, and you shall not give special honour to the powerful person. You shall judge your neighbour in righteousness."

"You shall not go about spreading tales among your people. You shall not stand by when your neighbour's blood is at stake. I am the LORD."

"You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall certainly correct your neighbour, and not let sin rest on him."

"You shall not take revenge, and you shall not hold a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbour as yourself. I am the LORD."

"You shall keep my laws. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed. You shall not wear a garment made of linen and wool mixed together."

"If a man lies with a woman who is a slave girl, promised in marriage to a husband, and she has not been bought back or set free, she shall be punished with whipping. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free."

"He shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. It shall be a ram for a trespass offering."

"The priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD, for the sin he has done. And the sin he has done shall be forgiven him."

"When you come into the land and have planted all kinds of trees for food, you shall count their fruit as forbidden. For three years it shall be forbidden to you. It shall not be eaten."

"But in the fourth year all their fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD."

"In the fifth year you shall eat their fruit, so that the trees may give you more and more. I am the LORD your God."

"You shall not eat anything with the blood still in it. You shall not use magic spells, and you shall not look for signs in the times and seasons."

"You shall not cut the hair round the sides of your heads, and you shall not spoil the edges of your beard."

"You shall not make any cuts in your flesh for the dead, or mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD."

"Do not shame your daughter by making her a prostitute. If you do, the land will turn to prostitution and become full of wickedness."

"You shall keep my sabbaths, and treat my sanctuary with reverence. I am the LORD."

"Do not turn to those who talk with spirits, and do not go looking for wizards, so that they make you unclean. I am the LORD your God."

"You shall stand up in the presence of grey hair, and honour the face of the old man, and fear your God. I am the LORD."

"If a stranger lives with you in your land, you shall not treat him badly."

"The stranger who lives with you shall be to you like one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."

"You shall do nothing unjust when you judge, or when you measure length, or weight, or amount."

"You shall have honest balances, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt."

"So you shall keep all my laws and all my judgments, and do them. I am the LORD."
