Joshua 6 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Joshua Chapter 6 Summary

The LORD gives Joshua unusual battle instructions for Jericho: for six days the armed men and seven priests with ram's horn trumpets are to march around the city once with the ark following, then on the seventh day march seven times and shout when the trumpets sound long. Israel obeys precisely, and on the seventh day when the people shout, Jericho's walls fall flat, allowing them to take the city and devote it to destruction—burning everything except the silver, gold, bronze, and iron for the LORD's treasury. Only Rahab and her family are spared because she hid the spies; Joshua pronounces a curse on anyone who rebuilds Jericho.
