John 13 - Summary

Original Summary

Read John Chapter 13 Summary

At the Last Supper, Jesus washes the disciples' feet, modeling servant leadership and commanding them to do likewise, though Peter initially refuses until Jesus explains that without this washing Peter has no part with Him. Jesus announces that one of them will betray Him, identifies the betrayer by the dipped morsel given to Judas into whom Satan enters, and sends Judas into the night. After Judas' departure, Jesus speaks of being glorified, gives the new commandment to love one another as He has loved them by which all will know they are His disciples, and predicts Peter's threefold denial before the rooster crows.
