In the year King Uzziah died, Isaiah sees the LORD on His throne with seraphim crying 'Holy, holy, holy'; he confesses his uncleanness but is purified when a seraph touches his lips with a burning coal. God asks 'Whom shall I send?' and Isaiah responds 'Here am I; send me.' He is commissioned to preach until cities are destroyed and only a holy seed remains.
