Isaiah 57 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Isaiah Chapter 57 Summary

The righteous perish while no one considers; they are taken away from evil to enter peace. But come near, you children of the sorceress who burn with lust under green trees and sacrifice children in valleys. You wearied yourself traveling far to worship idols. Yet God revives the contrite and lowly spirit. Peace, peace to the far and near; but the wicked are like the troubled sea.

The Longest Prophetic Book

Isaiah contains 66 chapters, making it the longest of the prophetic books. Often called 'the fifth Gospel,' it includes more messianic prophecies than any other Old Testament book, vividly describing Christ's suffering in chapter 53 some 700 years before His birth.
