Hosea 8 - Summary

Sound the alarm—like an eagle the enemy swoops upon God's house because Israel has broken the covenant and transgressed the law. They have set up kings without God's approval, made idols from their silver and gold; Samaria's calf will be smashed to pieces. Israel has sown the wind and will reap the whirlwind; they have hired lovers among the nations and multiplied altars for sinning—the great things of God's law are counted as a strange thing.
