Habakkuk 1 - Summary

The prophet Habakkuk opens with a complaint to the LORD about unanswered cries against violence, injustice, and the failure of law within Judah—questioning why God shows him iniquity while seemingly doing nothing. The LORD's shocking response announces He is raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and impetuous nation, to march through the earth possessing dwellings not their own, whose horses are swifter than leopards and fiercer than evening wolves.
