Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 5

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

So all the work that Solomon did for the house of the LORD was finished. Solomon brought in all the things that his father David had dedicated. He put the silver, the gold, and all the vessels among the treasures of the house of God.

Then Solomon gathered the elders of Israel to Jerusalem, with all the heads of the tribes and the leaders of the families of the children of Israel. They were to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

So all the men of Israel gathered to the king at the feast in the seventh month.

All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites lifted up the ark.

They brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up.

King Solomon and all the people of Israel who were gathered with him stood before the ark. They sacrificed sheep and oxen, so many that they could not be counted or numbered.

The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, to the inner room of the house, into the most holy place, right under the wings of the cherubim.

For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark. The cherubim covered the ark and its poles from above.

They drew out the poles of the ark, so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the ark in front of the inner room. But they could not be seen from outside. And there it is to this day.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt.

Then the priests came out of the holy place. All the priests who were there had made themselves holy, and were not keeping to their usual turns of service.

The Levites who were the singers were all there too: the men of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brothers. They were dressed in white linen and had cymbals and lyres and harps. They stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding trumpets.

The trumpeters and the singers sounded together as one, making one sound to be heard as they praised and thanked the LORD. They lifted up their voices with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, "For he is good; for his mercy lasts for ever." Then the house was filled with a cloud, the house of the LORD,

so that the priests could not stand to serve because of the cloud. For the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
