Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 3

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the place that David had prepared, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

He began to build on the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

These are the measurements Solomon was given for building the house of God. Using the older cubit, the length was sixty cubits and the width twenty cubits.

The porch at the front of the house was as long as the house was wide, twenty cubits, and it was a hundred and twenty high. He covered the inside of it with pure gold.

He lined the main room with fir wood, and covered it with fine gold, and set palm trees and chains upon it.

He decorated the house with precious stones to make it beautiful. The gold was gold from Parvaim.

He also covered the house with gold: the beams, the doorposts, the walls and the doors. And he carved cherubim on the walls.

He made the most holy room. Its length was as long as the house was wide, twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits. He covered it with fine gold, six hundred talents in all.

The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He also covered the upper rooms with gold.

In the most holy room he made two carved cherubim, and covered them with gold.

The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long in all. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long and reached to the wall of the house. Its other wing was also five cubits long and touched the wing of the other cherub.

One wing of the second cherub was five cubits long and reached to the wall of the house. Its other wing was five cubits too, and joined the wing of the first cherub.

So the wings of these cherubim stretched out twenty cubits. They stood on their feet, and their faces looked toward the room.

He made the veil of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, and worked cherubim into it.

In front of the house he made two pillars, thirty-five cubits high, and the capital on the top of each one was five cubits.

He made chains, like those in the inner room, and put them on the tops of the pillars. He made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.

He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right side and one on the left. He named the one on the right Jachin, and the one on the left Boaz.
