1 Corinthians 9 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 9 Summary

Defending his apostleship, Paul asserts his right to material support (illustrated by soldiers, vineyards, and the law of muzzling oxen) while declaring he has not used this right lest he hinder the gospel. He becomes all things to all men that he might save some, comparing himself to an athlete exercising self-control to receive an imperishable crown, disciplining his body lest after preaching to others he himself be disqualified.
