Listen to my words, O LORD. Consider my quiet thoughts.
Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I will pray to you.
In the morning you will hear my voice, O LORD. In the morning I will set my prayer before you, and will look up.
For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness. Evil cannot live with you.
The foolish will not stand before your eyes. You hate all who do wrong.
You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD hates the man of blood and deceit.
But as for me, I will come into your house because your mercy is great. In the fear of you I will worship, turning toward your holy temple.
Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness, because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Inside they are nothing but wickedness. Their throat is an open grave. They flatter with their tongue.
Destroy them, O God. Let them fall by their own plans. Throw them out for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
But let all those who trust in you be glad. Let them shout for joy for ever, because you defend them. Let those who love your name rejoice in you.
For you, LORD, will bless the righteous. You will surround him with favour as with a shield.
