1Woe to those who plan wickedness and work out evil on their beds. When the morning is light, they do it, because they have the power to do it.
2They want fields, and they seize them by force; they want houses, and they take them away. So they crush a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.
3So this is what the LORD says: "Look, against this family I am planning an evil, and you will not get your necks out from under it. You will not walk proudly any more, for this is an evil time."
4In that day someone will take up a saying against you, and mourn with a bitter song of grief, and say, "We are completely ruined. He has changed the portion of my people. How he has taken it from me! He has turned away and divided our fields."
5So you will have no one to measure out land by lot in the assembly of the LORD.
6"Do not prophesy," they say to those who prophesy. They will not prophesy to them, so the shame will not come.
7You who are called the house of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD held back? Are these his doings? Do not my words do good to the one who walks uprightly?
8Only lately my people have risen up like an enemy. You pull the robe along with the garment off those who pass by in safety, as men who want no war.
9You have driven the women of my people out of their pleasant houses. From their children you have taken my glory away for ever.
10Get up and go, for this is not your resting place. Because it is unclean, it will destroy you, with a bitter destruction.
11If a man walking in the spirit and in falsehood tells a lie, saying, "I will prophesy to you of wine and strong drink," he will be the prophet of this people.
12I will surely gather all of you, Jacob. I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will put them together like the sheep of Bozrah, like a flock in the middle of its pen. They will make a great noise because there are so many people.
13The one who breaks open the way has gone up before them. They have broken out, and have passed through the gate, and have gone out by it. Their king passes on before them, and the LORD is at their head.
