James 3 - Summary

The tongue, though small, corrupts the whole body like a tiny fire setting ablaze a great forest - an unruly evil full of deadly poison that no man can tame, blessing God and cursing humans made in His image. True wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality or hypocrisy, contrasting with earthly wisdom that is sensual and demonic, producing confusion and every evil work. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
