Original Summary

Read Isaiah Chapter 46 Summary

Babylon's idols Bel and Nebo are carried on weary animals into captivity, unable to rescue their burden. But God has carried Israel from the womb and will carry them to old age. To whom will you compare God? Idolaters lavish gold on images that cannot move or answer. God calls a bird of prey from the east—His purpose will stand.

The Longest Prophetic Book

Isaiah contains 66 chapters, making it the longest of the prophetic books. Often called 'the fifth Gospel,' it includes more messianic prophecies than any other Old Testament book, vividly describing Christ's suffering in chapter 53 some 700 years before His birth.
