After that he brought me to the temple. He measured the posts: six cubits wide on the one side, and six cubits wide on the other side, which was the width of the tent.
The doorway was ten cubits wide. The sides of the doorway were five cubits on the one side and five cubits on the other side. He measured its length: forty cubits; and its width: twenty cubits.
Then he went further in, and measured the post of the doorway: two cubits; and the doorway: six cubits; and the width of the doorway: seven cubits.
So he measured its length: twenty cubits; and its width: twenty cubits, in front of the temple. And he said to me, "This is the most holy place."
After that he measured the wall of the house: six cubits; and the width of every side room: four cubits, all around the house on every side.
The side rooms were three, one above another, and thirty in a row. They went into the wall which belonged to the house, so that the side rooms all around might have a hold there; but they had no hold in the wall of the house itself.
And the side rooms grew wider as they went up, winding round and round. For the winding of the house went up higher and higher around the house. So the house was wider higher up, and in this way a person went up from the lowest room to the highest by the middle one.
I also saw the height of the house all around. The foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.
The wall on the outside of the side rooms was five cubits thick. And the space that was left was the place of the side rooms that were inside.
Between the rooms was an open space twenty cubits wide, all around the house on every side.
The doors of the side rooms opened toward the space that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south. The space that was left was five cubits wide all around.
Now the building that stood in front of the separate place at the west end was seventy cubits wide. The wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length was ninety cubits.
So he measured the house: a hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building with its walls: a hundred cubits long.
Also the width of the front of the house, and of the separate place toward the east: a hundred cubits.
And he measured the length of the building facing the separate place which was behind it, with its galleries on the one side and on the other side: a hundred cubits; also the inner temple, and the porches of the court;
the doorposts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries all around on their three floors, facing the door, panelled with wood all around, and from the ground up to the windows; and the windows were covered.
This reached to the space above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.
It was made with cherubim and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between one cherub and another. And every cherub had two faces:
the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. It was made this way all through the house, all around.
From the ground up to above the door, cherubim and palm trees were made, and on the wall of the temple.
The posts of the temple were squared, and so was the front of the sanctuary; the look of the one was like the look of the other.
The altar of wood was three cubits high, and its length was two cubits. Its corners, its length, and its walls were of wood. And he said to me, "This is the table that is before the LORD."
The temple and the sanctuary each had two doors.
The doors had two leaves each, two leaves that turned: two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door.
On them, on the doors of the temple, cherubim and palm trees were made, like those made on the walls. And there were thick planks on the front of the porch outside.
There were narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and on the side rooms of the house, and thick planks.
