The Lord commands Ezekiel to stand and sends His Spirit into him, commissioning him as a prophet to the rebellious house of Israel who have transgressed against God. God gives Ezekiel a scroll written on both sides with lamentations, mourning, and woe, commanding him to eat it and speak God's words to Israel.
