Read Exodus Chapter 39

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

From the blue, purple, and scarlet cloth they made finely worked garments for serving in the holy place. They also made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.

He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.

They beat the gold into thin plates and cut it into wires, to work it into the blue, the purple, the scarlet, and the fine linen, with skilful work.

They made shoulder pieces for it, to join it together. It was joined together at its two edges.

The skilfully woven band on the ephod was made of the same materials and in the same way: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses.

They worked the onyx stones, set in gold settings, and engraved them as a seal is engraved, with the names of the children of Israel.

He put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, to be stones of remembrance for the children of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.

He made the breastplate with skilful work, like the work of the ephod: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.

It was square. They made the breastplate double, a span long and a span wide, when folded double.

They set in it four rows of stones. The first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle; this was the first row.

The second row was an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

The third row was a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.

The fourth row was a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were set in gold settings.

The stones matched the names of the children of Israel. There were twelve of them, one for each name, engraved like a seal, each one with its name, for the twelve tribes.

On the breastplate they made chains at the ends, twisted like cords, of pure gold.

They made two gold settings and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.

They put the two twisted gold chains in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

The two ends of the two twisted chains they fastened to the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, at the front.

They made two gold rings and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge, on the inner side next to the ephod.

They made two more gold rings and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, at the front, close to where it is joined, above the skilfully woven band of the ephod.

They tied the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it would sit above the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and so that the breastplate would not come loose from the ephod, as the LORD commanded Moses.

He made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.

There was an opening in the middle of the robe, like the opening in a coat of armour, with a border round the opening, so that it would not tear.

On the hems of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet, and twisted linen.

They made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe, all round between the pomegranates:

a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all round the hem of the robe for serving in, as the LORD commanded Moses.

They made coats of fine linen, woven, for Aaron and for his sons,

and a turban of fine linen, and beautiful headdresses of fine linen, and linen trousers of fine twisted linen,

and a sash of fine twisted linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet, embroidered, as the LORD commanded Moses.

They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it, engraved like a seal, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

They tied a blue cord to it, to fasten it high on the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.

So all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished. The children of Israel did everything just as the LORD commanded Moses; so they did.

They brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its equipment, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets;

the covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of badgers' skins, and the veil that screens;

the ark of the testimony with its poles, and the mercy seat;

the table and all its vessels, and the showbread;

the pure lampstand with its lamps, the lamps set in order, and all its vessels, and the oil for the light;

the golden altar, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, and the curtain for the door of the tabernacle;

the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its vessels, the basin and its base;

the hangings of the court, its pillars and its sockets, the curtain for the gate of the court, its cords and its pegs, and all the vessels for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;

the finely worked garments for serving in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, for serving as priests.

The children of Israel did all the work just as the LORD commanded Moses.

Moses looked at all the work, and saw that they had done it as the LORD had commanded; they had done exactly so. And Moses blessed them.
