Deuteronomy 21 - Summary

When a murder victim is found and the killer unknown, the nearest city's elders must perform a heifer ritual to purge bloodguilt from the community. Captive women may be taken as wives after a month's mourning but must be released if later unwanted, not sold as slaves. Firstborn rights cannot be transferred from an unloved wife's son, and a persistently rebellious son must be stoned by the community.
