Spiritual Lessons from Levi

A Curse Turned Into a Calling

Jacob's sentence was that Levi would be scattered through Israel with no land of his own. It came true, and it became the shape of the priesthood: forty-eight towns among the other tribes, a people with no territory because the LORD was their portion. The punishment and the vocation are the same sentence, read twice.
